Emily Soiney
Emily grew up in McMinnville, Oregon in a family of health care professionals. She graduated from OSU with a BS Exercise and Sport Science and a BA in International Studies with a Spanish minor. She is a board-certified physical therapist (PT) with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Minnesota. Emily passed extensive examination to become a certified Craniosacral Therapist (CST-T) with the Upledger Institute. She has attended all courses by the Postural Restoration Institute, as well as many courses by the North American Institute of Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and Visceral Mobilization by the Barral Institute. Emily has experience working with pediatric and adult clients with complex neurological and orthopedic conditions. Emily incorporates yoga therapeutics -particularly breath and postural awareness — into all physical therapy sessions to facilitate healing of the entire self. She is passionate about empowering others to feel better through self-awareness and a balance of mobility and stability. Emily is also a Reiki master which she blends with empathic and intuitive guidance into every session.
Emily began studying yoga in 1998 to recover from sports injuries. She has taught since 2004 as a registered yoga teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance. She has successfully completed two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings as well as a 9-month internship at Amrita Yoga Sanctuary in Portland. Her teaching style weaves ancient and modern wisdom through breath awareness and anatomically-sound poses. With deep reverence to this 5000 year-old healing tradition, she teaches yoga to all ages and abilities.
